MY INTERIOR PLAN PROCESS

​​1. Discovery Consultation

We begin with a complimentary 30-minute meeting in your home.  This is where you share which spaces you'd like to tackle, and I start to understand your requirements, taste, and style direction.

Together, we develop a plan based on the number of spaces, design complexity, and your priorities.

We'll also discuss your budget (separate from my design fee) - I work with budgets of all sizes, as long as they're realistic for your space and vision.

 

2. Proposal & Getting Started

Following our meeting, I'll send you a proposal confirming the rooms to be designed and the associated costs.  

 

Once you've accepted the proposal, I'll send:

• A client questionnaire to gather more detail on your style, budget, lifestyle, and vision

• Invoices for each space

 

To begin your design, I'll need:

• 50% deposit payment

• Floor plan sketch with dimensions (walls, doorways, ceiling height, architectural elements, outlets, plumbing, lighting)

• Photos of the room from all corners (wide-angle preferred)

• Photos and measurements of any existing furniture or fixtures you'd like to keep

• Inspiration images or Pinterest boards

Note: If you prefer not to measure and photograph the space yourself, I offer this service for an additional fee.

 

Your design slot is secured once I receive the signed proposal, deposit, and all required information. The start date will be confirmed at that time.

 

3. Design Creation

Once everything is received, I'll begin designing based on our discussions, your questionnaire, and inspiration images.

 

Within 3 weeks, I'll present an illustration-style concept board (sometimes preceded by an atmospheric mood board).  This captures the intended design direction - colours, materials, style - and communicates the aesthetic without necessarily showing exact items.

 

Once we agree on the aesthetic, I'll develop the design further into a final presentation that includes (where relevant):

• Sourced furniture, soft furnishings, art, lighting, window treatments

• Paint colours, materials, and finishes (FF&E specifications)

• True-to-scale 2D layout and technical furniture plan

• Traffic flow or zoning

 

Depending on scope, this may also include development sketches, materials & finishes boards, lighting plans, or elevation drawings.

 

Design timelines are approximate.  Open-plan or multi-zone spaces may take longer; occasionally designs are completed sooner.  You'll always receive clear communication.

 

4. Design Presentation & Revisions

Once complete, I present the proposed final design.  

One revision is included for tweaks to the original concept.  Further revisions are charged at my hourly rate.  Complete re-designs in a different direction are considered new scope and will be separately costed.

 

Once adjustments are made, I present the final design.  The balance of payment is due at this stage.

 

Upon final payment, your complete Interior Plan Design Package is released via email, including:

• All design boards

• 2D layout and technical furniture space plan

• Shoppable FF&E specification sheet

 

5. You're All Set!

Your design is complete.  Use the provided guides and shopping lists to purchase items and set up your space at your own pace.  I'm available by text, call, or email if you have questions.

 

6. Post-Design Services

Styling Session (included):

One post-design styling session to align your space with the proposed design. During this session, I'll also photograph the space for my portfolio.  Valid for 2 months post-design, with extensions up to 6 months to accommodate delivery times and contractor schedules.

 

Shopping Service (optional):

Available for accents and accessories.
